Term 3 Dictée

Please visit the Dictée page for all of the dictée word lists from now until the beginning of May.  This term, we will be focusing on learning a new complex sound each week (e.g. ch, on, ou, etc.).

You will be receiving a hard copy in your child’s pochette on Monday.

Yellow Work Folders

Tomorrow, we will be sending home your child’s work in a large yellow folder (same as Term 1).  Please take some time to go over your child’s work with them.  All of their work will be mixed in there, but I ask that you please pay special attention to their story writing which has been a huge focus for us this term.  I suggested the students show you their first story and their most recent story – this will give you all a clear idea of how much they have progressed over the term.  They should all be very proud of how far they have come with their writing!

Art portfolios, duotangs, math books, journals, etc. will be coming home at the end of the year.

Please be sure to remember send back the empty yellow folder this time (ideally on Friday, so you do not forget over the break).  I had to make several new ones today and would like to use these again for Term 3.  Thank you for your understanding!

Bonjour familles,

A few reminders for today and tomorrow…

Pick-Up Today (Wednesday)

Please remember to pick up your child in the courtyard (under-covered area next to the cafeteria doors) @ 3:00pm.  Last week, the location changed to the big gym due to class photos – sorry for the confusion!  See you today in the courtyard at 3:00.

Report Cards

Report Cards will be coming home today in your child’s pochette.  Please make sure to sign the back of the envelope and return to school before the break.

VSO Tomorrow

We will be going to the VSO tomorrow afternoon.  Students will be eating their lunch at 11:00am and we will have snack when we get back to school in the afternoon.  We will be going by school bus.

Family Reading Tomorrow

Family Reading is on for tomorrow morning at 8:40am.

Students now have their “known books” in their book boxes.  These are books that I have introduced to them during guided reading.  The purpose of re-reading familiar books is to build confidence, practice reading strategies independently, and to read with fluency/expression.

Hope to see more families out this tomorrow!
